common questions
i don't have an invite. how do i sign up?
ariel is a single-host app — there's no public sign-up. if you weren't invited by the host, the app won't have anyone for you to follow. email us if you believe you were supposed to get an invite.
how do i turn off notifications for a specific thing?
open the app → settings → notifications. there's a toggle for each category (messages, posts, events, comments, reactions, rsvps, check-ins, stories). flip whichever you don't want. apple's system-level notification toggle is in your phone's settings → notifications → ariel.
how do i delete my account and data?
email ariel@yaytso.art from the apple id associated with your account, subject "ariel account deletion". we'll remove your user record, all your messages, comments, reactions, rsvps, check-ins, and any media you uploaded within 30 days.
the app is asking for my location. why?
only when you tap "check in" on an event. your device location is attached to the check-in so the host can see who actually made it vs who was tapping from elsewhere. you can deny the permission and still check in — your coordinates just won't be sent.
i'm not getting push notifications.
check three things in order: (1) ios settings → notifications → ariel — allow notifications, banners, sounds. (2) in the app, settings → notifications — the relevant category toggle is on. (3) make sure your phone isn't in focus / do not disturb.
i found a bug.
great — please email us with: (a) what you were doing, (b) what you expected, (c) what actually happened, (d) iphone model + ios version, (e) screenshot or screen recording if you can.
